Looking north towards the Burren

Looking for comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in West County Clare, with easy access to Ireland’s celebrated Wild Atlantic Way? We offer everything you would expect to find in any good B&B, but our small scale allows us to be more flexible and receptive to the needs of our guests. The house is ideal for a small family wanting child-friendly catered accommodation or for friends holidaying together, or simply for a night or two to attend a local event or as part of a tour. Your hosts, Brigid and John, are enthusiastic long-distance motorcyclists and are delighted to welcome fellow bikers. We are happy to provide secure garaging for your motorcycle, as well as hanging space and drying facilities for your bike kit.

“Johnny Paddy’s” is a new single storey family house that combines the latest building standards with attractive old-world features. Situated in a rural location on the north side of Mount Callan, between Inagh and Miltown Malbay, its elevated position affords truly spectacular views towards the Burren.  We’re approximately 10km from the Atlantic Coast at Spanish Point. The contour of the world-famous Cliffs of Moher and silhouette of O’Brien’s Tower can be seen from our driveway.

Guest accommodation comprises one double bedroom with en suite bath/shower room and one bedroom that can be made up either as a double or as a twin. This second bedroom does not have an en suite shower, but does have exclusive use of a large family bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower, just across the hall. Guest bathrobes are provided. The house is wheelchair accessible.

Afternoon teaGuests are welcome to make themselves at home in our living room, built around the tradition of an open-plan, multi-functional, Irish ‘kitchen’. On rainy days, order afternoon tea and settle down with a good book in front of the stove, watch UK Freesat television, or choose a movie from our home theatre system. If you are planning on attending Willie Clancy Week in Miltown Malbay or any of  County Clare’s other trad music festivals, the room’s open plan style and flagstone floor make it ideal for set dancing or music practice.

Breakfast can either be taken in the kitchen or in your own room, if preferred. For a supplement, an evening meal (taken with your hosts) is available if ordered before midday.  We operate an honesty system for a variety of other drinks and snacks.
